Lippmann Crushers: Heavy-Duty Jaw Crushers Built for Production

Lippmann: Milwaukee's Crusher Legacy

Lippmann-Milwaukee has been manufacturing crushing equipment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin since 1923 — making them one of the oldest crusher manufacturers in North America. Their jaw crushers are known for being overbuilt, with heavier frames and larger bearings than competitors at similar jaw openings.

What Makes Lippmann Different

  • Overbuilt construction — Lippmann frames are 20-30% heavier than competitors at the same jaw opening. This translates to less vibration, longer bearing life, and better performance on hard, abrasive rock.
  • Deep crushing chamber — The steep jaw angle creates a deep chamber that grabs material aggressively and produces more consistent output.
  • Hydraulic toggle adjustment — Standard on all models. Adjust CSS from outside the machine in minutes.
  • American manufacturing — Everything is machined and assembled in Milwaukee. Lead times are typically shorter than imported equipment.

Lippmann vs. Other Jaw Crushers

Lippmann jaw crushers are heavier and more expensive per ton of capacity than brands like McCloskey or IROCK. The tradeoff is longevity — Lippmann crushers routinely operate 15,000-20,000+ hours with proper maintenance, compared to 8,000-12,000 hours for lighter-built competitors. For quarry operators running 2,000+ hours per year, the higher upfront cost is justified by lower cost-per-ton over the machine's life.

For contract crushers who move frequently, the extra weight is a consideration — transport costs are higher, and setup takes longer.

Portable Plant Configurations

Lippmann offers their jaw crushers on portable wheeled chassis or as stationary units. Popular configurations include:

  • 3048J-W — Wheeled portable jaw plant with under-crusher conveyor and optional vibrating grizzly feeder
  • 4244I — Impact crusher plant for recycling and soft rock applications
  • LC300WW — Cone crusher plant for secondary crushing and producing spec aggregate
